Equipment and room booking schedule
Please note: The use of the room and equipment in this booking calendar are to be used by biochemistry and biomedical sciences affiliates only.
The online booking resource system is available within the university network only. When you are on-campus, you are already within the university network and will be able to access the booking resource system. When you are off-campus (at home or abroad), you may connect to the university network and access the booking resource system using the McMaster VPN (virtual private network) software. A MacID and password is required to use McMaster VPN.
How do I go about booking a room in the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) or Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery (MDCL)?
Faculty and staff can visit FHS Room Bookings to view available rooms and submit room booking requests. Students are not permitted to book rooms. If you require assistance with a room booking, please contact Stephanie Ward.
The BBS (4N61) and BDC Boardrooms (4H30C) is no longer be available for lab meetings. Faculty and staff are directed to go to FHS Room Bookings.
Macromolecular Crystallography Suite
Co-managed by Dr. Sara Andres and Dr. John Whitney, the Crystallography Suite is located on the second floor of MDCL and provides research support, hands-on training and services in structural biology. Equipment available for trained users includes a single crystal x-ray system, small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and high throughput protein crystallization with a Gryphon crystallization robot. Anyone who is interested in using this suite for their research is encouraged to email Madoka Akimota for more information.
Poster printing
The BBS poster printer has come to the end of its life and has been decommissioned.
Lab trainees who need to print a poster are directed to use Media Production Services (MPS) at McMaster for ease of administration and billing. Alternatively, you may use another vendor if they accept a P-Card and the supervisor has given authorization. The department will not process expense reimbursement requests for poster printing unless it is included along with a travel expense claim to present at a conference.
Files can be sent for printing via the online link below. An active project or program chartfield will need to be provided. The PI/account holder’s email address must be included on the order for approval purposes. Service time is typically 3 business days. The cost to print a standard-size poster (36″ x 48″) is $60. There are additional charges for various options including same-day/urgent printing, custom sizing, specialty paper, etc
